I just wanted to thank you so much for helping me reach a goal that 10 months ago I thought was out of reach. The deck was stacked against me - overweight, 40 and struggling with failing kidneys. Having you motivate me every week and kicking my butt made finishing Tough Mudder possible. Yesterday I achieved that goal and finished my first Tough Mudder with the help of my team! I can't thank you and everyone else who help me at your weekly Boot Camps enough for helping me attain this goal. I'm going to take a bit of break now and will be receiving a kidney transplant in late September and I hope to be back training with you in the near future as my Mudder team wants to do it again next year!! I look forward to what training will be like once I'm actually healthy. Thank you so much!

Two years ago I began to get in shape by running in graduated increments on the tread mill until I could run eight kilometres three times a week. I ran a 10 kilometre race a year after starting.
I realized I needed strength training and asked Shannon Van Ember if she would be my personal trainer. That made all the difference! We met and worked together weekly on routines Shannon custom designed for me, always with my goals in mind. She changed the work-outs regularly so that I got variation and the inspiration to continue on my own two days a week.
I have now joined her Bootcamp and I fit right in! I am able to do the sit-ups and push-ups that I could not do when I started. It is an intense thrice-weekly work out with a group of my peers. We meet on our lunch hour at work. Shannon varies the exercises every time so that we work our upper body, core and legs for maximum strength training and cardiovascular fitness.

I look in the mirrors now, I had a tailor take in 17 pieces of clothing, I am happier at work and to my family, I like the summer season now (I wore shorts all last summer) when I used to dread that time of year. I used to think I could hide behind layers and layers of large sized clothing and no one would notice that I was fat. Now I dress in a proper fitting and stylish wardrobe. I am so happy that I work out regularly with Shannon Van Ember there to inspire me. Do what you can for yourself, when you are ready. Ask Shannon to come by and see you. She will work with you as you are and she will make a difference in your fitness and health. I am proof.

I am 47 years old and have been over-weight and out of shape for a good part of my adult life. About 2 years ago I decided to do something about it.
I saw a Naturopathic Physician for nutritional advice and started making lifestyle changes. I changed my diet and started to exercise on my own. I was doing well with weight loss, but not getting the results I wanted with my strength and fitness levels. That all changed when I met Shannon.
